This Project aims at revitalization of neglected Mala Lake as a recreational water front and biodiversity hotspot for local and tourist. Mala lake which was once a 75,000sq m water body now stands at 20,000 still acting as a blue sponge for runoff from Altino and other areas.

The brackish water lake which is part of ecosystem is also surrounded by pocket of Urban poor. The proposed water front development envisages reviving the lake as a tourist attraction whilst creating employment opportunities related to tourism and aquaculture for local urban poor.
