1 New Pedestrian Bridge Linking New Business District (Patto) To The Older Part Of The City New cable stayed pedestrian bridge across the Ourem creek is to be built with a Span of 65m and width of 4.5m with 2 ramps of 16m & 17m to allow access for handicapped people. The flooring to be provided is Machine cut and flamed platinum white Granite stone flooring for the bridge. Bored caste-in-situ M35 grade RCC pile foundation for the bridge with 900mm and 750mm diameter and depth of 25m along with pile caps. 4 pylons filled with concrete for holding cables (which hold the deck).
Sidewalks pavements, of width 5.37m to 10.96m, to be provided around the food court and public areas as well as in the pedestrian circuit around city welcome centre. Surfacing for the sidewalks with granite stones (full machine cut and deep flamed on top surface) and shot blasted pavers.
Utility trenches of size 900mmx750mm to be constructed to accommodate telecom lines, HT lines and water supply lines and to be covered with precast RCC slabs. Green areas and landscaping to be provided. New food court area (25mx16m) with shot blasted pavers surfacing. New medium size washroom (18.4mx5.3m) with anti-slip vitrified tiling, ceramic glazed wall tiles and colour coated galvalume roofing sheets.
2 Semi Pedestrianization of MG Road From Old Secretariat To Caculo Island Through this project it is proposed to enhance and transform the area through reorganization of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and installation of upgraded services and utilities in order to attract more business and provide a public space for citizens. Sidewalks to be broadened (width varying from 2.60 to 5.50m) and made continuous and even. Surfacing for the sidewalks to be done with granite slabs for 9185 sq.m area. Parking will be organized and marked and allowed only on one side of the road as it will be the main exit from the city and to avoid traffic congestion. Surfacing with cement concrete paver blocks for 2267sq.m. area. All utilities like telecom line, HT line and water supply with dia>150mm dia will be shifted to a common utility trench of size 900mmx750mm. Light poles to be changed. Existing surface of carriageway will be maintained and repaired wherever required. Cycle track of width 2.0m will be provided along the road surfacing with bituminous macadam for 1620.00sq.m.
3 Semi Pedstrianization of 18th June Road From Church Square Area to Caculo Island. It is proposed to transform 230m length of 18th June road into a pedestrian street and installation of upgraded services and utilities in order to attract more business and provide a public space for citizens. Entire stretch of 230m length will be made pedestrian. The sidewalk (of width 6m to 7m) surface finish to be made with granite stones for an area of 3635sq.m. The carriageway surface to be provided with granite cobblestone surface finish for an area of 2123sq.m. All utilities like sewage, HT lines and water supply with dia>150mm will be shifted into the utility trench of size 900mmx750mm. Light poles to be changed (10m high street lights). New urban furniture like SS 3 seater bench with backrest & SS litterbins shall be placed along the road. Some Panjim main gutters that cross the road will be repaired.
4 Beautification and Pedestrianization of Church Square It is proposed to enhance and transform the area through re-organization of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and installation of upgraded services and utilities in order to attract more business and provide a public space for citizens. Sidewalks to be widened (varying from 1.38m to 9.18m) and provided with granite stone block flooring. It is proposed to create a big pedestrian space in front of church. Co-existent streets of 3.50m width providing way for pedestrians and carriageway designed in such a way to reduce the speed of vehicles. Surfacing of co-existent streets is done with shot blasted cement concrete interlocking paver blocks. Organized parking with markings of shot blasted cement concrete interlocking paver blocks surfacing. Utility trenches, of width 900mmx750mm, to be provided to shift telecom lines, HT lines and water supply lines with dia 150mm. Light poles shall also be changed. Carriageway surface to be done in pavement quality concrete for a surface area of 3228 sq.m.
Sidewalks to be finished in :
  • 1. Granite stone block (sides full machine cut and deep flamed on top surface) of approved shades grey and pink for 7126sq.m.
  • 2. Shot blasted pavers for an area of 2501sq.m.
Proposed traffic schedule characterized by one way traffic roads reducing conflicts at junctions.
5 Beautification of Caranzalem Children’s Park Through this project, it is proposed to enhance and transform this area to make it more attractive and give more variety of uses to the park, increasing the standard of the same and providing a more appealing space for citizens and tourists. New open air parking for 66 cars will be provided and Resting zones with upgraded green areas and benches,volleyball and Bádminton Courts. Also Outdoor Gym area with pebble pavement facility will be provided. Also New laterite compound wall for pending stretches and renew of existing one along with bamboo bridge connecting the park with Miramar Beach is proposed in the project. Lighting and electrification work will also be carried out.
6 Development of Altinho Steps It is proposed to renovate the sewerage network and storm water drains. Also all the utilities will be shifted underground into a utility trench. Further, the repair and renovation of existing steps with uniformity in tread and riser will be carried out. Provision of retaining wall for high ground is considered and also Lighting and electrificación.
7 Foot Bridge over Chimbel Creek and Development of Surrounding Area. Through this project, it is proposed to enhance and transform this area through reorganization of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, building of new buildings and bridge, installation of upgraded services and utilities in order to attract more business and provide a public space for citizens. New sidewalks will be constructed along the peninsula to allow pedestrian movement from Ribandar and road through all new buildings.New parking area will be created in front of buildings, creating a plaza and Old market will be demolished and a new one will be constructed. One new community hall will be constructed along with Medium size washroom. Further, new footbridge connecting peninsula with Ribandar is proposed.
8 Development & Improvement of Ribandar Fishermen’s Wharf Through this project, it is propose to improve capacity for boats and create a proper space for selling fishes by constructing a new floating jetty and platform. A new concrete floating jetty will be built in the same location of existing one and metallic gangway with railing will be provided for safe access to new jetty. A concrete platform will be built to allow fishermen to sell and handle their fishes outside the footpath
9 Development of open spaces opposite old IPHB complex at Altinho, Panaji, Goa Situated in close vicinity of the large jogging park, these open spaces on the way back home for many of the joggers’ park user is intended to be a ‘pause’ space, a space for relaxed seating. Total area of development is around 2400 sq.m. The proposed development intends to integrate the existing trees and binding the same in an organic free flowing seating form. The design also helps to create a pedestrian access from the main road to the residential colony behind. The open space shall be primarily hard landscaped with peripheral planters with low maintenance trees and plants. The large rain tree existing on site is used as central landscaping feature. The stepped seating under the trees would be topped with polished black granite finish. Rest of the area shall be paved with combination of various materials like leather finished cudappa, shot blasted pavers, laterite stones and rough shahbad. Ambient lighting has been proposed to make the open spaces safe at night. Concrete pergola has been proposed at the interface of the colony and the open space.
